Hybrid By Design: Using the HERT VestTM On or Off a Wearer or Manikin

Using HERT VestTM as a table-top procedural skills trainer

The HERT VestTM can be used as a traditional table-top procedural skills trainer.  All features are fully functional in this mode.  It is recommended that the device be placed on a flat, sturdy, non-slip surface for best results.

Using HERT VestTM as a wearable medical simulator

The HERT VestTM can also be used as a wearable medical simulator.  All features are fully functional in this mode.  To properly wear the device, it should be placed directly over a similar-sized wearer’s neck, shoulders, chest and abdomen and attached to the wearer using either the hook and loop nylon straps or the fitted garment included with the purchase.

The HERT VestTM will protect the wearer from needle sticks, punctures, and scalpel injuries while the aforementioned simulated medical procedures are being completed using current, acceptable medical techniques, equipment, and standards of practice within the confines and dimensions of the vest.  Any tissue, anatomy, or objects that exist beyond the perimeter of the vest is not protected from these injuries.
